Course Overview
What is B.Arch in Maharashtra?
Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) is a five-year COA-approved undergraduate professional degree covering architectural design, building technology, urban planning, structural systems, and environmental design. Maharashtra offers 60+ COA-approved colleges across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad.
For international students, admission is through the State CET Cell FN quota. All categories — FN, NRI, OCI, PIO, CIWGC, and Merchant Navy — are eligible. A valid NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) score is mandatory for all applicants alongside academic eligibility.
Maharashtra's architecture schools benefit from proximity to Mumbai's iconic built environment, Pune's growing design industry, and Nagpur's urban development corridor — giving students real-world exposure from Year 1.

Preparation Guide
How to Prepare Before Applying
Preparation has two parts: academic and exam readiness (course-specific), and gathering the right documents for your category. Start both at least 8–12 weeks before the fn.mahacet.org application window opens.
- 1Register for NATA early: NATA is conducted by the Council of Architecture 2–3 times per year. Scores are valid for one year. Register at the CoA website and take NATA before applying on fn.mahacet.org.
- 2Prepare for NATA Drawing Paper: NATA tests freehand drawing — perspective, plan-section-elevation, proportions, and imaginative composition. Practice at least 1 hour daily for 3 months before the test. No digital tools — all drawings by hand.
- 3Revise 12th Maths and Physics: The NATA aptitude paper covers 11th–12th level Maths, Physics, and logical reasoning. Focus on coordinate geometry, 3D visualisation, and basic statics.
- 4Build a portfolio of sketches: Prepare 8–10 of your best freehand sketches — many colleges review portfolios during counselling even if it is not a portal requirement.
- 5Apply for AIU Certificate if needed: If your 12th qualification is from outside India, apply for the AIU Equivalency Certificate at least 6 weeks before the fn.mahacet.org window opens.
